2020: Positivity out of adversity.

Phew!! This was probably the toughest year (a lot of people said so). For me this year was a breakthrough for a lot of things. Before the pandemic, I completed a project with Brimatel & I have been planning my ways on how to secure an internship for my mandatory school IT. I attended a couple of them like Goldman Sachs, Addax, etc but didn’t work out as planned due to the pandemic and my performance.

For me, it turns out I was pretty jobless when we were sent back home, and we couldn’t go out due to the Nationwide lockdown.

March ended, I was still doing some teaching, volunteer stuff, and organizing event.

Here were my expectations for 2020:

  • Travel abroad for the first time( either through Goldman Sachs internship, GDG organizers Summit or Local Guides summit) — Didn’t achieve this.
  • Work on my school grades — Didn’t achieve this.
  • Become a DSC Lead — Wasn’t selected.

Here are the things that happened unplanned (some effort was put in though) 2020

  • I became a GDG organizer for GDG Ojo-festac in Lagos around March.
  • 2 job offers I was clueless about what to do.
  • More Fundzz (x XX of last year’s income)🥵🥵
  • Became a Microsoft Students Ambassador
  • Made a lot of financial moves.
  • Attended my best friend’s wedding (Akasu 😌)

Oh well, a lot really happened and this was possible because I wasn’t engaged with school activities.

Indeed, with hardship [will be] ease.
